(www.credobags.com) Started by Montrealer Judy Lazar in 2008. She was inspired by a plastic bag stuck in a tree across the street from her house for more than a year. Then a plastic bag attached itself to a tree in front of her Credobags office.
Mesh, drawstring bags. Raw cotton from Turkey is spun, woven and sewn in Montreal. Claims to be the first North American-made reusable mesh produce bag.
Two sizes, in regular or organic cotton. 10by-12-inch organic bag holds 12 apples, or three to four pounds. Price: $6 each. Also, two mesh produce bags and two muslin bulk food bags for $20.
